Michael Glendinning

Director

Michael co-founded the European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea in 2013. He has been the Director of the organisation since its inception.

He holds a BA in English from the University of Gloucestershire and an MA in English from the University of Leicester.

Prior to founding EAHRNK, Michael lived in South Korea for four years, where he volunteered and interned for various North Korean human rights groups.

James Burt

Research and Policy Officer

James is the Research and Policy Officer at the European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea. He is tasked with researching and creating policy that seek to improve human rights in the DPRK.

He holds a BA in International Relations and History from the University of Portsmouth and an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics.

He is the author of all policy output from the organisation and serves as the Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on North Korea.

Jihyun Park

North Korean Outreach and Project Officer

Jihyun is the North Korean Outreach and Project Officer at the European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea. She manages our Korean-language output, builds our relations with North Korean refugees, and oversees all our projects.

She holds a Mathematics and Science degree from a university in North Korea. Prior to leaving North Korea, she was a teacher in a high school.

She gave testimony of her experiences at the UN Commission of Inquiry's London hearings. Her story has featured in a high-profile Amnesty International campaign, various magazines and newspapers, and in two short documentaries.
